Alberto Morell Sixto (Madrid, 1967) es Arquitecto (desde 1992) y Profesor Titular de Universidad (d. 2000) en la E. T. S. de Arquitectura de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Como Arquitecto, tiene estudio en Madrid (d. 1992) y en Nairobi (d.1996). La obra construida ha participado en más de 60 exposiciones nacionales e internacionales y ha sido publicada con profusión. De los 25 premios y distinciones en reconocimiento de esta labor, destaca el Primer Premio Europeo Luigi Cosenza 2002 y el Primer Premio COAM 2003. Como Profesor, lleva 27 años dando clase de Proyectos Arquitectónicos con regularidad. Desde hace 13 años dirige la Unidad Docente Morell del DPA de la ETSAM, que sigue una línea de investigación sobre los Orígenes de la Arquitectura, iniciada en África con la serie de libros 14km. Ha sido ponente en más de 30 conferencias nacionales e internacionales, recogidas en el libro Despacio (Buenos Aires, 2011) y ha escrito más de 100 artículos en revistas científicas y en capítulos de libros. Publicó El espacio dinámico, sobre Miguel Fisac (2000) y obtuvo la Beca de la Academia de España en Roma (2002), donde escribió el Diario de un cazador de espacios (2003). En la actualidad, trabaja en un proyecto de Senior Cohousing en Santander (d. 2016), forma parte de la Asociación Cultural para el Estudio del Yoga en Madrid (d. 2012), estudia Vastu Shastra (2023) y ha comenzado a expresar el espacio a través de la Performance (2023).

 

Alberto Morell Sixto (Madrid, 1967) is an Architect (since 1992) and University Professor (s. 2000) at the E.T.S. of Architecture of the Polytechnic University of Madrid. As an Architect, he has studio in Madrid (s. 1992) and in Nairobi (d.1996). His built work has participated in more than 60 national and international exhibitions and has been published extensively. Of the 25 prizes and distinctions in recognition of this work, the First European Prize Luigi Cosenza 2002 and the First Prize COAM 2003 stand out. As a Professor, he has been teaching Building Design on a regular basis for 27 years. For the last 13 years he has directed the Morell Teaching Unit of the DPA at the ETSAM, which follows a line of research on the Origins of Architecture, initiated in Africa with the 14km book series. He has been a speaker at more than 30 national and international conferences, collected in the book Despacio (Buenos Aires, 2011) and he has written more than 100 articles in scientific journals and book chapters. He published El espacio dinámico, on Miguel Fisac (2000) and was awarded a scholarship by the Spanish Academy in Rome (2002), where he wrote Diario de un cazador de espacios (2003). He is currently working on a Senior Cohousing project in Santander (d. 2016), is part of the Cultural Association for the Study of Yoga in Madrid (d. 2012), studies Vastu Shastra (2023) and has begun to express space through Performance art (2023).
